We don’t usually post a lot of celebrity gossip and personal life nonsense, but we do try and say a little something whenever a musician decides to tie the knot. This one was probably a long time coming, but it’s going to be the talk of the day regardless.

Last night, Kanye West had girlfriend/baby mama Kim Kardashian fly to meet him in San Francisco. Kim did not know it at the time, but Kanye had hired an orchestra to play Lana Del Rey’s “Young & Beautiful” in AT&T ballpark (which he rented for the evening) just for her. When the surprise was revealed, Kim stood smiling as the massive screen on the field lit up with the message “Pleeease Marry Meee.” Kanye then presented his love with a 15 carat gold diamond ring, Kim said yes, and just like that the most discussed couple in pop culture became engaged. Kanye will resume his Yeezus tour soon, which will keep him relatively busy until 2014. No word yet on a wedding date, but rest assured sites that are not UTG (like this, or this, or this) will be detailing every bit of progress until the two have tied the knot.
