Production Of ‘Jeepers Creepers III: Cathedral’ To Begin Soon

According to Bloody Disgusting, Victor Salva will soon begin shooting the long-awaited third installment to the Jeepers Creepers horror franchise, tentatively titled Jeepers Creepers III: Cathedral.

The original Jeepers Creepers, which debuted in 2001 and is regarded by many as the launch pad for Justin Long‘s career, took in nearly $60,000,000 worldwide, which speaks for itself when one considers it was produced for only 1/6 of that amount. More impressive still, the film’s sequel, which debuted two years later and found Salva back in the director’s chair, performed even better on a global scale, and grossed nearly $36,000,000 nationwide.

At this point, details are limited as to the film’s plotline. Some speculate it will center on the original movie’s protagonist, Trish, who, in an effort to protect her son from the same demon that killed her brother many years ago, joins forces with the ever-resourceful Taggart family to finish off ‘The Creeper’ once and for all. Accordingly, it has also been rumored that Gina Phillips, Jonathan Breck, and Ray Wise will all reprise their roles for the series’ next installment, with Salva once again penning the script.

Though it remains unclear as to when exactly production on Jeepers Creepers III will begin, it will likely take place before or after Salva completes Entity, which will serve as an unofficial sequel to 1995’s Powder.
