UTG EXCLUSIVE: Of Us Giants – “Nova Scotia” (Feat. Lindsey Pavao)

We here at UTG are pretty excited to introduce you to California’s Of Us Giants today. In about two months, the band will be releasing their first ever full length album by the name of Nova Scotia on January 28, 2014, and lucky for you, we’re sharing the lead single off of the record right here.

Musically, “Nova Scotia” is on point. Initially, the song comes off as an informal tip of the hat to some of the influential singer-songwriters of the past – such as Conor Oberst and Elliott Smith – before transforming into a full band jam that displays the group’s heavy and soulful take on the indie-rock genre. The fact that the track features the incredible guest vocals of Lindsey Pavao, a semifinalist from the second season of NBC’s hit series The Voice doesn’t hurt either.

Along with being available digitally, the album will be made available on CD and vinyl through some different outlets. Pre-orders for the CD and vinyl in select colorways can be found through Songs From The Road Records. The record can be bought in a coke bottle clear variant exclusively through Fly The Light Records, and for fans in the UK, the album will soon become available through Close To Home Records. In the coming weeks, the band will be sending out downloads of four singles from the record to all who pre-order, starting with “Nova Scotia” today, with three more to come on December 18, and January 1 & 15. Be sure to like Of Us Giants on Facebook, and to let UTG what you think about this new single in the comments.
