Julian Casablancas’ New Album Can Be Bought As a USB Cigarette Lighter

It’s been five years since his last solo album, and as such, The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas is dropping his sophomore solo album, Tyranny, on September 23 via his own Cult Records imprint. In anticipation, he’s released a whole slew of details about the album.

For starters, we finally got the album artwork and the 12-song tracklist to the Phrazes for the Young follow-up, listed after the jump, in addition to the previously announced tour. He also shared an 11-minute track titled “Human Sadness,” making it the album’s lead single. It’s cinematic, dark, and full of auto-tune. Stream it below.

Perhaps the best news of the announcement is the various formats available to purchase the album. Casablancas has set up the usual pre-order options on Cult Records’ website, but this time he’s stepped it up a notch. Not only can you buy Tyranny as a CD, LP, or digitally, but it will be avaiable on a cassette and as a USB cigarette lighter — because you always have to look your coolest.
