El-P Is Working with Zach De La Rocha, Run The Jewels 3 is Happening

There’s no denying it’s been quite a year for Run The Jewels, or that Run The Jewels are quite a force in and of themselves. After dropping their sophomore self-titled album this year to widespread success for free, they have taken over late night TV and political threads, spitting out words with a fury and speed that makes it impossible to ignore. On Run the Jewels 2, former Rage Against the Machine frontman Zack de la Rocha showed up for a memorable hook and guest verse. Today, we get word that El-P and de la Rocha are teaming up once more.

The proof is in the pudding — or, in this case, a photo from Killer Mike’s Instagram (seen above). According to NME, El-P did an in-store event at London’s Rough Trade East and said the following: “I spent a month in my apartment in Brooklyn with Zack de la Rocha just before he split Rage Against The Machine, working on music that will never see the light of day. I can’t speak about his future but I will say that I’m going to LA to spend another month with him in January.” Considering Killer Mike is on the recording saying, “Run The Jewels 3. We start work in January,” it’s safe to say there’s a correlation.

However, after the news spread, El-P took to Twitter to clean up any confusion. It seems like he only made it all the more confusing, though, so who knows, really.
