‘Orange Is The New Black’ returns with intense Season 4 trailer

While Orange Is The New Black has always been funny, it’s never shied away from tackling important issues, either. The first three seasons of the show have covered mental illness, religion, drug addiction, sexual assault, and racism, just to name a few topics. Today, Netflix released the trailer for the fourth season of OITNB, and it looks to continue the trend.

Lichfield has become a for-profit prison, and this brings on a host of changes for the current inmates. With the addition of 100 new inmates, the prison quickly becomes overcrowded, which necessitates the hiring of new COs. A major conflict in the trailer is the relationship between the inmates and these overly-violent COs, as we see a whole squad of guards decked out in full riot gear. We also get a peek at some other conflicts between prisoner factions, and the trailer—which you can watch below—boasts the ominous message of “Some will fight, others will fall.”

It’s not all doom and gloom in the trailer, though. This being OITNB, there are some genuinely hilarious moments. Taystee as Caputo’s new secretary in particular looks to be a source of some good comedy.

Season 4 of Orange Is The New Black comes to Netflix on June 17. What did you think of the new trailer? Let us know in the comments.
