During a show last night in San Francisco, Thee Oh Sees frontman John Dwyer announced that the band would be taking an indefinite hiatus.
“This will be the last Oh Sees show for a long while,” Dwyer said. “So dig in.”
According to SF Weekly, Dwyer is leaving his home of San Francisco for Los Angeles. And though the rest of the band is staying in the city, keyboardist Brigid Dawson is leaving for Santa Cruz.
The group has been going steady for five years straight and, according to the band’s booking agent, it’s time for a break.
“Will be a little hard to continue with all the different locales so who know what is going to happen… Cross fingers, we all are that it’s not completely over,” Annie Southworth said.
There are currently no plans for future Thee Oh Sees shows, and none will be made until after Dwyer finishes his move.
