Oh, great day! Anberlin has returned!
By “returned,” I don’t mean they made a record, toured a bit, then made another one. I mean they are back to the way it should be. I consider Dark is Way, Light is a Place to be their worst record, with New Surrender right behind. Both are dry and dull. Products of major label woes. This song, however, is gold.
“Self-Starter” premiered this morning on Billboard and has been circulating around the web all day. I just got a moment to take a listen and I like what I hear. It’s Never Take Friendship Personal-esq with a bit of a rougher, Cities, touch. In other words, it’s perfect.
Listen here.

I think Anberlin has maintained It through the years. Didnt listen to dark is
way tho.
As a fan, I say listen to it. If you’re busy, don’t.
I disagree, I love their whole collection, but I DEF am excited for this new album, this song rocks!
I actually consider New Surrender to be their worst, I liked Dark is the Way, Light is a Place as a redeeming album for them after it. Cities still being my favorite, Never Take Friendship Personal after it.
i thought new surrender was awesome
