Toronto artist Josh Reichmann Oracle Band (formerly of Frenchkiss post-punk band Tangiers) is offering his own spin on Deerhunter’s song “Agoraphobia”….The song is available on Josh’s brand new digital-only Shivering Black EP, out this week on Paper Bag Records!

SPIN called “Shivering Black,” “a synthesis of modern sounds and timeless, raw rock songwriting…a stomping, sparkling sci-fi popscape that hits you like a kiss from a starman you suspect is full of shit but still dig for his dance moves,” in their April ’09 issue as their #1“Song You Must Hear Now!” The Shivering Black EP also includes a remix by Paper Bag’s very own Jake Fairley, and a brand new song called “Our Whole Life.”

Josh Reichmann Oracle Band is busy readying the release of his Crazy Power LP, the followup to his acclaimed Life Is Legal EP. He now fronts a five-piece band incorporating soul, early funk, roots bass and dark punk influences, complete with a live dancer (formerly of the National Ballet), and they recently wrapped a US tour w/ Sebastian Grainger . Summer tour dates to follow.
