STREAM: Cut Copy – ‘Free Your Mind’

Australia’s electronic dance boys Cut Copy are returning with a new album this fall and they’ve gone and put it online for streaming more than a week before its release. Titled Free Your Mind, the new album has some bold artwork (don’t act like those colors aren’t burning your eyes) and the catchy hooks you’ve been waiting for.

It’s been two years since their last album, 2011′s Zonoscope, making this their fourth LP overall. It was recorded in Melbourne, their hometown, and was self-produced by Dan Whitford (along with mixing by Dave Fridmann [Tame Impala, MGMT, the Flaming Lips]) in upstate New York. The fourteen songs on the album saw inspiration from San Francisco’s Summer of Love in 1967 and Britain’s Second Summer of Love in 1988; the album’s press release notes, “The concept of freedom is one that’s universally positive and timeless, and whatever each person’s version of that freedom is, it’s a good thing to be reminding people or even just ourselves to be ‘free.’”

Free Your Mind comes out November 5 via Loma Vista/Modular. Listen to the whole album below:
