Metallica Admit Respect For Justin Bieber

Okay, we all get it: most fans of traditional bands (you know, groups that have one or two guitarists, a bassist, drummer, and vocalist) will rail away at whichever pop artists are big at the time for a variety of reasons that are either rational or absurd. So it should go without saying that there is going to be a some sort of public outrage now that Metallica, one of the most respected bands in metal history, have collectively given Justin Bieber the nod in response to his praise of the band when he said that “One,” and “Fade To Black” were “his jams” last year in an interview for GQ last year.

Blabbermouth reports that in a recent feature article, James Hetfield told Q magazine that the band are in fact, “Beliebers.” To follow-up, Lars Ulrich said “Is it possible to have respect for him without being a Belieber? I think the kid’s really talented and obviously to go through what he’s going through at that early age must be a mindfuck. So the fact that he still goes out there and does it, I admire that and I think he’s super talented, so I guess I am kind of a Belieber. If he likes ‘One’, and Liam Gallagher likes him, OK, there you go.”
