Joseph Gordon-Levitt Will Direct And Star In ‘Sandman’ Film

Well, the rumor mill was correct this time. There has been much speculation surrounding the rumors of a Sandman film featuring JGL, though now we know that he not only will star, but direct a film adaptation of the comic series.

Paired with screenwriter David S. Goyer, the two will embark on the task of making The Sandman a character for the big screen. Don’t confuse this Sandman will the terrible incarnation we saw in Spider-Man 3, or Sandman from DC, this canon belongs to Vertigo and was published through DC Comics.

A dark incarnation of The Lord of Dreams, it will be interesting to see what Goyer and Gordon-Levitt can do with the character. For those wishing to brush up on the series’ canon, head over to the Wikipedia page.

It has been quite the comic book day today, with Batman vs. Superman news, Days of Future Past news, and now this. This announcement inevitably comes with more news, so stay close to UTG for more Sandman related information.
