In two months, St. Vincent will be releasing her fourth solo album, St. Vincent, via Loma Vista. Last month we heard “Birth in Reverse,” and now St. Vincent has shared another new track from the album called “Digital Witness.”
“Digital Witness” sees Annie Clark moving away from her earlier string-based work and into a darker, snarkier sound (following in suit with her desire to make the album something “you could play at a funeral“). The album is produced by John Congleton and features Dap-Kings drummer Homer Steinweiss and Midlake’s McKenzie Smith on percussion. Listen to see if you can hear any of their influence, and make sure you’re watching the video carefully — it’s not just a still image.
