Modest Mouse Announce US Tour Dates

Modest Mouse has reemerged, announcing several US tour dates in May.

It has been seven long years since the release of Modest Mouse’s most recent full-length, We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. Signs of relief started popping up last year, though. Rough audio and video started popping up from Modest Mouse sets at various festivals capturing live performances of new songs, such as “Be Brave” at Coachella.

The biggest piece of news came when the band cancelled a European tour last summer, purportedly to finish up the new album. Guessing a possible release date for a new album – or even a release year – would be foolhardy, though. Remember when Big Boi was working on “the new mouse LP” – in 2011?

Still, while hopes for a new album in the near future may be foolhardy, hopes of hearing new songs soon may not be. Even if you can’t make it to these dates, you may reap some benefits by way of shaky videos with rough audio capturing snippets of new songs from this May tour. At this point, Modest Mouse fans will take what they can get. If it’s tickets you want to get, get them here.
