After Mr. Peabody & Sherman had debuted last weekend and ranking in second to last week’s top highest grossing film, which was 300: Rise of an Empire, the animated Dreamworks film has now surprisingly climbed the charts with an estimated $21.2 million made in sales.
Suffice it to say, Need for Speed did not meet expectations with its audience turnout. The Aaron Paul-led film had only pulled in $17.8 million this past weekend, which had left it placing in shortly behind the 300 follow-up.
Other flicks which premiered this weekend would include Tyler Perry’s latest comedy, The Single Moms Club, which opened to $8.3 million, and the highly anticipated Veronica Mars film that made about $2 million through a limited release.
