Stream FKA Twigs’ Debut Album ‘LP1’

Britain’s experimental R&B singer FKA Twigs drops her debut album, LP1, on August 12 via Young Turks. In anticipation, it’s streaming in full over at iTunes Radio.

The 10-track release follows up her last two EPs and features production from Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes, Paul Epworth, and Arca. We’ve already heard “Two Weeks” and “Video Girl,” but hearing them in context of the rest of the album does wonders. Pre-orders for the album are currently ongoing.

According to an interview with Pitchfork, FKA Twigs says she named the album because she didn’t know what she was doing and didn’t want to give it “some sort of grand name,” but added, “On the opening song, ‘Preface’, I sing a quote by a poet called Wyatt: “I love another, and thus I hate myself.’ It’s inscribed into the vinyl. So it’s called LP1, but, for me, that quote is the subtitle — you could apply that line to anything in my life for the past two years.”
