REQUIRED LISTENING: Lil Wayne – “Grindin” (Feat. Drake)

Since it was confirmed to hit stores this year, Lil Wayne‘s camp have provided fans with a few hints of what’s to come on Weezy’s forthcoming (and possibly last) full-length, Tha Carter V, via a steady stream of singles. Kicking off its cycle with an absolute banger in the Drake assisted “Believe Me,” a handful of quality cuts ranging from “D’usse” to “Krazy” have kept the album’s buzz alive and well. Today, Wayne has teamed up with his Young Money counterpart once again to unleash yet another single that’s looking to rule radio stations and clubs alike.

Entitled “Grindin,” the track finds Weezy spitting his highly infectious, auto-tuned flow over a minimalistic beat that devolves into a grimey, bass-growling beast at choice moments. It’s not classic Wayne by any means, sure, but the level of quality here rivals that of his pre-Tha Carter III glory days. As for Drake, his verse is short-lived, but it adds the perfect amount of his signature bravado to the mix while allowing Wayne to shine bright on his march back to the top of hip-hop.

While there’s no confirmed day of release as of yet for Tha Carter V, Weezy’s grand finale is looking to double as his magnum opus, so stay tuned to UTG on Twitter as we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as its drop date is made public. Until then, don’t forget to check out all of the tour dates for his upcoming summer trek with Drake as it kicks off tonight in New York.

Sounds like someone queefing into a mic and they just said “Fuck it throw the retune to 0 and tracking to 1, people won’t give a shit!”

    This is awful.
