It’s been about a year since we have last heard 50 Cent on a serious recorded LP, which was G-Unit’s Terminate On Site album. It only seems right that we should expect high quality music since 50 has been doing everything BUT releasing music. Let me run down recent Fiddy activities that have derailed his album releases: (1) beef with Rick Ross, (2) small stint in the porno industry with Rick Ross’ baby mama, (3) movie career, (4) introduction of second personality Pimpin’ Curly, and (5) his lawsuit over his house.
Obviously right off the bat you can tell War Angel LP is short and only has twelve tracks. If only that were the worst of the problems this release had. The flow from the song, “Reddrum (Murder),” is spot on taken from the song, “You Don’t Know,” from the Re-Up mixtape. I’m not saying its illegal to reuse a rhyme style you have used in the past, but it does sound uncreative and lazy. Also, in the song, “OK Ya Right,” it sounds like Fiddy is giving his best impression of Eminem’s Arabian flow and delivery. Wow.
Some of the bangers on this album are, “C.R.E.A.M. 2009”, “ Redrum (Murder)”, “Better Come On Your A Game”, and, “Cocaine.”
Overall, the street LP sounds well polished and has fantastic production. Literally all of the beats are fire and I’m sure mixtape artists cannot wait until the instrumentals leak on the Internet. Of course the hooks on 50 Cent’s tracks are his strongest attributes, which on this street LP the same can be said. Another thing I would like to knock on is the fact that Fiddy keeps talking about murder, guns, and gang violence. Seriously? It is 2009. Someone tell Curtis that he has millions of dollars in his bank account and that those things are no longer relevant to his music. If he is going to chat about busting caps then at least tell a story from a past perspective…not from today’s viewpoint.
To conclude, I thought this street LP went hard. I’ve missed 50 Cent and I’m sure a lot of you have too. I may be too critical about the content on this release, but it is hard to complain when he released War Angel LP free to the public. Be sure to go download this LP from Thisis50.com and check it out for yourself! Before I Self Destruct is scheduled for release on September 8th of this year—hopefully he is saving his major heat for that album.

YEAH I LIKE THE ALBUM ITS HOT. AND I LIKE THE SONG COCAINE WITH ROBIN THICKE!
I wasn’t expecting much from this mixtape to be honest but actually it’s immpressed me quite a bit. The first half of the mixtape is my favorite as it’s more “hardcore” I think. I hope Before I Self Destruct has some similar styles to this mixtape but with MORE into it. Apart from a couple of songs I quite like this mixtape and I would give it a 3.5/5 stopping myself from giving it a 4/5 almost.
50 Cent is the greatest gangsta rapper of all times. I love his song specially Candyshop.
lol, 50 Cent is so crazy! I love him.
This long in the business and still on top! Bow down to 50!
