Broken Bells To Release New Album in January 2014

One of my absolute favorite releases of 2010 was the debut, self-titled album from Broken Bells, the collaborative project from The Shins’ frontman, James Mercer, and famed artist-producer, Brian Burton aka Danger Mouse (Danger Doom, Gnarls Barkley, 100 other projects). It’s one of those releases that just never gets old. One that I can enjoy from start to finish without ever feeling like there’s a track I’d prefer to skip.

Apart from their follow-up EP, Meyrin Fields, in 2011, there hasn’t been a lot of commotion in the Broken Bells camp apart from Mercer revealing to KINK.FM in an early 2012 interview that he was working on a new BB album. That notion finally materialized today in the form of an impressive teaser trailer for the duo’s upcoming second full-length, After The Disco, which appears to be receiving a January 2014 release date.

Based on the song clip in the video, we’re certainly in for more phenomenal goodness from these two talents. We’re excited as can be here at UTG. Watch the teaser after the jump and get excited with us.
