At this rate we’ll be posting about Childish Gambino as often as A Day To Remember by Friday.
Never one to leave fans waiting for too long, Childish Gambino has released the full cut of his “yaphet lotto” freestyle. The track was originally included in a video preview for Gambino’s upcoming Sophomore release, which was released just a few hours ago. You can stream and download the track at the end of this post.
Based on a few initial spins, it seems time has treated Childish Gambino quite well. The bars spit “yaphet kotto” touch on everything from the hazards of celebrity, dealing with wannabes, and trying to stay true to yourself in the face of what everyone seems to want/say. It plays like a diary entry on crack, jumping between flows and concepts with ease while detailing every bit of young Donald Glover’s life, and it may just be the best thing you hear all day.
Childish Gambino will release his follow-up to 2011’s Camp during winter 2013. Look for more information on his future plans to surface in the weeks ahead.
