BEST NEWS: RX Bandits Say, “we will indeed be making a new album.”

Oh, how I was awaiting this news! We all hoped it’d come in due time and we had a feeling that it would, especially after they more or less hinted at it last year.

RX Bandits finally revealed on Saturday that they would in fact be releasing a new album as a follow-up to their fantastic 2009 LP, Mandala. They posted an update on their Facebook page with a link to a PledgeMusic campaign which contains many incentive options including CDs, vinyl, painted works, and even more intimate (and pricey) rewards such as a surfing trip with Matt Embree or getting your very own private show from the band.

The campaign page states, “So we have officially decided to get back together and record a brand new full-length LP. Buying an experience or a package is your way to directly contribute to the creation of this record, as we are releasing it on our own label. Your pledge makes you the most important aspect to the creation of this album next to the band in the studio. And not only are we making this record come to life, but a portion of your pledge will go to Doctors Without Borders — amazing organization providing medical care to people in embattled and war torn areas of the world.”

It could be assumed that the record could be released later this year but as it’s currently unknown how far into the writing/recording process the band is, time will only tell as we’re updated with further information. In the meantime, make sure to check out their PledgeMusic page and contribute some funds for which exclusives you want before they sell out. And they will sell out.
