Watch J.K. Simmons Conduct Miles Teller to the Brink in the Explosive New Trailer for ‘Whiplash’

While everyone today was too busy talking about the snore-worthy trailer for the adaptation of the grocery store romance novel adaptation 50 Shades of Grey, a sneak peek into an incredibly interesting looking film, Whiplash, hit the web today.

Whiplash tells the story of Andrew (played by Miles Teller of The Spectacular Now and Divergent), a young jazz drumming prodigy who starts his first year playing with the best jazz orchestra in the country. However, as Andrew’s ego gets slapped right in the face both metaphorically and literally by his hard-nosed conductor Fletcher (J.K. Simmons), the tension rises, and Andrew’s life becomes way more complicated than it used to be.

I’ve been desperately waiting for a trailer for Whiplash since the film blew up the festival circuit earlier this year, and if this trailer is any indication, the hype may be warranted. While I was not a huge fan of Teller in The Spectacular Now, he seems to really fit this role, and the under-appreciated J.K. Simmons is definitely going to turn some heads with this performance. There’s jazz, there’s intense performances, there’s drumming; for someone like me, my expectations and excitement are at fever pitch.

You can check out the trailer after the break, and get hyped as Whiplash comes out on October 10 in limited theaters.

My neighbour is working part time and averaging $9000 a month. I’m a single mum and just got my first paycheck for $6546! I still can’t believe it. I tried it out cause I got really desperate and now I couldn’t be happier. ;’;’;’;././
