If you’re a regular follower of UTG, then you are likely well aware of our affinity for standout hip-hop. Though our love for all alternative genres is vast and undying, we take particular pleasure in red-hot one-liners and gut-busting bars, as few and far between as they may be.
Likewise, we couldn’t be more stoked to bring you the world premiere of Crossword‘s official video for “Fuck It x Get Faded,” a contagious, two-headed monster that perfectly flaunts the Toronto wordsmith’s impressive versatility and endless appeal. The track is taken from his latest full-length effort, XW, which made landfall earlier this Spring. Tune in after the jump, and let us know what you think in the replies.
“This video showcases the two sides of XW–‘Fuck it,’ which is a motivational joint providing words of encouragement to push through when facing adversity, and ‘Get Faded,’ a loose jam where my focus is simply to boast the most bars,” Crossword told UTG via email. “The day/night contrast between the two songs reflects the unique mood of each track, and director Tray Starks’ direction and editing matches the vibes perfectly.”
