UTG PHOTOS: Passion Pit (11/2/12)

Passion Pit

Under the Gun’s photographer, Tori Thomas attended the Passion Pit, Youngblood Hawke, & Hollerado show at the Royal Oak Music Theatre on November 2, 2012.

I arrived to this sold out show expecting to hear new music, new bands, and a great live performance; I received all that and more! The first band was Hollerado, which I’ve never heard of, nor their music, but I really enjoyed it. It’s hard to pin point a similar band, but I would compare them to Vampire Weekend. If you are looking for a new artist to get into, look into Hollerado! Next up on the bill was Youngblood Hawke, who is a six piece band from LA. They put on a great performance, and got the crowd pumped and moving. If you want a song to be stuck in your head for days, check out their song “We Come Running”. Then came the most anticipated part of the evening, when Passion Pit would take the stage. I’ve seen Passion Pit live, but this time it was spectacular! Not only did they perform great, but the lights were fantastic; an artist can really win me over by having a great light set up. Their performance was by far one of my favorites from all the shows I’ve been to, the atmosphere and experience is one everyone should experience. If you’ve never seen Passion Pit live, I suggest you buy your tickets for their upcoming tour!
